Craft an innovative brand for an audience as diverse as it is visually-minded? Sure. Build a process to engage the school-wide community? No problem. Do this for country’s only public college of art and design? Yes, please.

We love MassArt. We’ve studied there, taught there, expanded our thinking there, blown our minds there. So when it came time to rebrand this cultural powerhouse we were nothing short of thrilled. Fueled by a strategic plan, we created a logo that reflects the branding pillars of the school while addressing practical issues—like incorporating a version that works over rich imagery created by the Mass Art community. The visual system unifies MassArt—but we know artists and designers don’t like to be told what to do, so we built in a bit of “artistic license”. And lucky us: we got to test the system many times over our decade-long relationship with MassArt. Admissions. Development. Alumni. Galleries. You name it, we did it.
